Training Pakistan launched the #Rhodes #grass #hay farming workshop for entrepreneurs and farmers who wish to start non-traditional modes of production.
Rhodes grass hay is a fodder crop with medium to high nutrition content. CP values are between 8-12%.
While use of rhodes grass is growing in Pakistan, especially used to feed dry dairy cattle, it is a prime fodder for camels and most of Pakistan’s production of rhodes grass is exported to the GCC nations like United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain.
As rhodes grass is a hardy crop, it is not difficult to grow. However, it does require mechanization which in turn requires significantly more investment than traditional crop farming.
